The key to understanding what personality type you have lies in the MBTI® system. It provides you with the information you require to confirm what your friends and family may already suspect.
Essentially, there are four basic pairs consisting of eight different (or even opposite) personality types. The pairs consist of the following:
The opposite groups intermingle to provide you with a mathematical reality of 16 different combinations. As a result, you fit into one of the specific 16 categories, each identified by their code number, provided below.
ISTJ – “The Duty Fulfillers” ISFJ – “The Nurturers” INFJ – “The Protectors”
INTJ – “The Scientists” ISTP – “The Mechanics” ISFP – “The Artists”
INFP – “The Idealists” INTP – “The Thinkers” ESTP – “The Doers”
ESFP – “The Performers” ENFP – “The Inspirers” ENTP – “The Visionaries”

Each of these 16 personalities is different. The (MBTI®) carefully, through a precise questionnaire method, discovers and clarifies which personality type you are. It, then, provides you with distinct characteristics of each particular type. This is done with the hope that you, your employer or partner, will utilize it in a practical manner.
To clarify how each personality type differs from the other, it is best to consider two examples of each. For this, we will look at two personality types: ESTJ and INFP.
Because two personalities such as these are almost diametrically opposed in many different aspects of their life and, therefore, their approach to it, being aware of this information and/or identification provides the individual with a valuable upfront tool in determining their suitability for a role. For example, an ESTJ is best suited for the following types of employment: administrator, stockbroker, dentist, engineer, manager and bank officer while, and INFP is better off in such work as acting, writing, teaching and journalism.
There are, altogether, 16 personality types if you apply the MBTI®. Once you become aware of your specific personality type, you can avoid many of the problems encountered when round pegs are forced into square boxes. It is also helpful in further understanding yourself and what might best suit your personality type in your pursuit of happiness.
